Carnegie Mellon vs. Cornell University,

Hello CCers,

I was accepted by both schools (Mellon College of Science for Carnegie Mellon and School of Arts and Sciences for Cornell University) and I’m having a really hard time choosing between these 2 colleges.

I have visited both campuses last week and I love both of them even though they have 2 different atmospheres. I want to major in biochemistry or computational biology. In terms of cost, both are equal because they give similar amount of FA. The primary factor that I’m looking for in both schools is research opportunities. I know that Carnegie Mellon has a really strong CS department (and an amazing computational biology program) but I was wondering if their biochemistry program is strong as Cornell.

I would really appreciate it if I could receive some advice on this matter. Thank you!

Carnegie Mellon is really great in terms of research, and it being in a more urban environment could provide more opportunities as well.

Suggest go to whichever you think you might like better.
