Carolina Dorm Room

Going shopping today with my 2018 D--finally (special event at the Container Store with 20% off! She will be living in Carolina -her first choice which surprised me because she went to an all girls HS. Any tips or suggestions for storage or other items? We're from PA so she won't be going back and forth to home very often. And like many girls, she has a ton of clothes, shoes and toiletries! :) I assume we will loft her bed -- do we need to bring any special tools, or will the school do this for us? I think we are also going to rent the micro-fridge with her roommate. Should we bring a rug? And will an over the door mirror work on the closet door?

they will oft the bed - i think you (we) have to put in a request for this

The staff will help, but I found it better to do it myself. Bring a rubber mallet if you have one to make it easier. We also found (with both kids) that it is better to only raise the bed to half height. Raising it all the way made it too hard to change the sheets.

Wife and daughter went to the container store as well. By their description they have enough containers of various sizes to outfit the Titanic. So either we rent a 25 foot U HAUL or UPS/ FED EX some boxes. Does anyone have any experience/location of where we can mail a box/boxes other than the small boxes Elon will accept?

Bed Bath and Beyond has a program where you can order items at home and pick them up in Burlington NC at the University Drive location. We did this for some of the larger items.
