So I’m planning on majoring in automotive engineering, and minoring in computer science. I am already taking comp sci classes and I am planning on taking automotive in my junior year of high school (aka next year).
Um… cool story.
Cars have computers in them.
Not sure if you were just letting us know or if you had a question but I will give you a look at what Ford is using to do designs in VR. https://www.gravitysketch.com/
Just went to a conference that my son put on at Michigan and this was one of the presenters. He was like one of the lead designers at Ford. Designing in 3d is very cool.
Since we are sharing and this has to do with cars.
That does sound cool. Just work with your Guidance Counselor to make sure you can fit all of the engineering prep courses expected by your target colleges. In our district, I think the automotive program consumes almost a half day (half the credits). Good luck!
A lot of schools have engineering design teams that build Formula-style racecars for the yearly Formula Society of Automotive Engineers competition. If your future University/College has one, I recommend you check it out.
See the following link for info on several SAE sponsored competitions (Formula, Formula Hybrid, Formula Electric, Supermileage, Baja, etc.).
