Case Early Action Decisions

Excited to get a presidential scholarship $22,500!! WOHOOO! Does anyone know how many people receive this scholarship?

Is it true that the scholarship is not a factor in determining financial aid??

CONGRATS EVERYONE

Son received Provost’s Scholarship ($20,000), nice Christmas present.

@ aglages: Congratulations to you and your daughter! I am excited for both of you!

Does this mean Case will be the one?

Thanks Smart.Cookie! Not until after she hears from UPenn & UVA. Then we have to compare the final FA numbers for CWRU, Pitt, UVA & UPenn to determine whether we can afford ANY of them. How about you, did you get your welcoming letter (with scholarship details) or was it delayed due to the EA mishap? Fortunately for you (and your parents), your Pitt scholarship is offering a huge financial safety net.

I haven’t heard back from Case Western, but I did receive an offer higher than Pitt’s from Capital University, a smaller private school in Columbus, OH. I really don’t know how this new variable will impact my decision, but I am really eager to hear from Case. I think my packet will likely come Saturday or Monday…

A great Christmas present. Similar to us (and most people on this board) you’ll have to wait until after FAFSA and see where the numbers are…
Let us know about your CWRU scholarship offer…it should be great with your numbers.

Provost’s Scholarship ($20,000) here. :)))))))))

accepted. provost scholarship

I still haven’t gotten my acceptance packet and scholarship info in the mail yet.

Accepte with presidential scholarship! does anyone know what the highest scholarship they give is?

The highest scholarships they give are the “Academic Awards Program” scholarships of full tuition, of which there are under 20. The trustee’s scholarship is second highest, and the presidential scholarship is third highest and is certainly a huge honor  Congratulations!

I got the trustee’s scholarship. Does that mean that’s it, or do I still have a shot at the full ride?

I’m pretty sure that all scholarship decisions are final, but it wouldn’t hurt to call admissions and ask.

So they already awarded the full scholarships along with the other scholarships?

That’s what I’m assuming… I got a trustee’s also, but honestly, it’s still not enough to totally offset 50,000/yr. Obviously it’s very helpful, but man is Case expensive.

smart.cookie: Capital is supposed to be a good law school, but undergrad…I don’t see how you can seriously compare it with Case.

Median ACT scores at Capital: 21-26.
Median ACT scores at Case: 26-31

It’s gonna be a whole different group of students. If you have good stats, I’m not surprised Capital made you a nice offer!

Hi does anyone know if the PPSP applicants find out about scholarships with their acceptance to Case in Jan/Feb or in March when they find out about the PPSP admittance? Thanks!

Do any of you know the breakdown of scholarships? I googled the scholarships but I couldn’t find any clear lists of what they are, how many people get it, and what qualifications you must have to get them

Also this is probably a super stupid question, but do scholarships get rid of financial aid?
For example, lets say I get the 20K scholarship, but the difference between the cost of Case and my family’s contribution is like 5K, does that mean I will get 25K total, or 20K total?

I was offered $22,500 a year (Bolton Scholar), but will not be attending (Pitt’s offer was better, and FA won’t make up the difference). I wish that Case would consider nursing students for its full tuition and full ride scholarships :(
