It means less and less as the years go by.
For example Duke is far more “sectarian” despite their non-sectarian identification: their have a divinity school which is a seminary of the Methodist Church.

Switching back to the original question, we have visits scheduled to all three, but I’m looking for a way to maybe streamline things and skip at least one of the visits (the calendar is a bit crowded).
So, leaving aside what we might or might not be looking for, if YOU looked at more than one of these, and picked one over another, what were YOUR reasons? That may inform ours.
I’m particularly interested in the relative merits – along any scale – of Case vs. Rochester, which seem to have a lot in common, but Brandeis vs. either is also useful.
Thank you.
Just a note about music at Rochester. Your son doesn’t have to be Eastman School caliber to be involved in music at UR. My daughter has friends who are regular Rochester students who play in the chamber orchestra and rock ensemble. And many who are active in vocal groups on campus. One of the things I like about the school is that they seem to provide opportunities for involvement at a number of different talent/training/commitment levels.
PM me if you have more specific questions. I’d be glad to share our experiences. (All three schools were in our daughter’s consideration set, too.)
I posted a question on the Rochester thread comparing CWRU and Rochester last year http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-rochester/1763818-case-western-vs-rochester.html#latest and the same question on the CWRU thread http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/case-western-reserve-university/1765762-cwru-vs-rochester-school-spirit-economics-cs.html#latest
