***Case Western Class of 2022 EA Thread***

^^ found it from the CDS

Does anyone know how they notify?

@etibbs they said “We expect Early Action and Early Decision I applicants will receive an email providing a link to the secure webpage with their admission status”

I didn’t realize an interview was even an option for case… do you guys think it will hurt my chances that I didn’t have an interview? I’m getting kinda mixed messages; I can’t tell if the interview was mostly for us to get to know and ask questions about case (if we couldn’t visit) or if it was for them to get to know us. I already visited about a year ago. And it’s too late for me to schedule an interview, since I applied ea.

to add onto this, I only just recently (like 2 weeks ago) signed up for an interview, did it make a difference?

@Desperatesenior1 I talked with an admissions counselor and he said the interview served two purposes: to demonstrate interest and to give them additional information that wasn’t on your application. Personally, I’ve visited campus twice and am on their email list (he said that admissions can see who opens their emails and who doesn’t) so he said it probably wasn’t necessary to interview unless there was something dire I needed to tell them that wasn’t included in my app. Hope that helps!

Thanks!

I just had my interview for Case this past Sunday and the woman I interviewed with said they don’t really impact the ir decision (obviously, in my case, since it was 2 days before decisions come out) , but were, instead, just an opportunity to learn about Case from a former student and get insider information that an admission counselor wouldn’t provide.

It depends, do you live within an hour of campus? If you are close to campus then they really want to see that you made an effort to come visit and talk and if you didn’t then it could have an impact on their decision about you.

so is anyone aware of how we will be receiving our decision? will we be getting an email to the case email account they had us set up?

In an email from Case Western:
“We expect Early Action and Early Decision I applicants will receive an email providing a link to the secure webpage with their admission status on Tuesday, Dec. 19. We will begin sending these email notifications around 8 p.m. EST. Students who applied for financial aid will also be able to see their financial aid package online at that time.”

@laly84100 I live in North Carolina, but visited during their open hour and had an interview near where I live.

I did the form for the alumni interview a few months ago and never heard anything. Hope I’m fine.

The decisions comes out right as my flute lesson ends tonight. Guess who’s bringing her laptop with her! Needless to say I’m already nervous and will probably be more so tonight.

@frazzledazzle Keep in mind that the alumni interviews are done by volunteers…so there has to be an alumni near you.

how hard is it to get in if you didn’t demonstrate interest

@bopper I doubt it since I live in Maine. Stinks that I didn’t hear anything - not even an email saying there were no volunteers available. Too late now, I guess.
