I have recently been admitted to the Brown PLME program with a terrible financial aid package. However, I have been offered the interview for Case Western's PPSP program. But Case is not offering me any scholarship money at all and hasn't even sent me a financial aid package even though they have all my materials. Should I bother going to the Case interview?

Jazi06, you can check your financial aid online its called like myBriefCase or something.

If case isnt offering you any money its about the exact same cost as Brown, maybe like a $3,000 differance?. Overall, Brown is a better school with a better social life but obviously money is an important factor so its kinda a toss up. Besides getting into Brown PLME Is a dream for many kids.

I recieved a scholarship at Case but no financial aid, or rather all aid in loans. So im not entirely sure how generous they are with financial aid.

Congrats on PLME and good luck in ur decisions.

whoa are you KIDDING ME???? You were good enough to be invited for a PPSP interview...but didn't even get money thrown at you, even when Case is super generous with scholarship money? That's insane.

I got PLME too, btw. congrats! but no ppsp interview.

hm, i dont think its possible to have a PPSP interview offer and not get money lol. You should definitely check on your 'myBriefcase' account and see if they have an award for you...thats where i found mine.

and congrats on Brown, thats aWESOMEEE

Which is better out of the two (Bown med and Case med)?

You should check with Case to see where your FA materials are. It would not be the first mail to be "lost".

Case Med is allllooott better than Brown's Med. Brown's graduate programs are to say...not the best. Case however, according to US News, ranks 20th in both primal care and research...i think...so if u can get an opp. to get automatic entrance into Case's med school, that would be superb

case med isn't a lot better than brown med. case is one of the oldest med school's in the country, brown is one of the newest--that's the only difference. brown offers a more intimate program and a residency match list that is considerably more competitive for prestigious programs in the northeast. almost a quarter of the brown med graduating class matches into harvard residencies

just my opinion

The thing is, when you think Brown, Med school isn't the 1st thing to pop up. At Case Western however, that just what there all about.

USNEWS does rank Case Higher than Brown, but I think you should just go were they give you money/were you like most. Personally, I'd take Cleveland over Providence any day...

jazi,

Have you chosen where you wish to attend at this point?
PS-I have heard that PPSP can be completed in 7 years whereas PLME can only be completed in 8.
