My son is lucky enough to have to choose between these three amazing options. Each has it's pluses and minuses. He appreciates the value of the PPSP program from an academic and career perspective, but when we visited, the students did not seem enthused with the school. In spite of the strength of it's academics, a number were looking to transfer out. I would want him to have both a strong academic environment, but also enjoy the college experience and be able to grow as a person. If anyone was in a similar situation, can you share how you came to your decision and if you are happy with your choice.

What were the specifics as to why they were unhappy?

It’s a shame that the students were not enthusiastic because PPSP is far and away the best option from a practical standpoint. From friends I know of at Cornell, pre-med there is relatively difficult (and the school is expensive) and while USC is a decent school w/ good scholarship it is not a school worth turning down for a guaranteed seat in med school. On top of that I believe Case Western also generally provides good scholarships for its students wherein the cost discrepancy would probably not be that big compared to USC.

I would try talking to some other students and actual program students because your son might have interacted with an unrepresentative sample and it would be unfortunate for your son to pass up this excellent opportunity for that reason. If the program students themselves are dissatisfied with their choice then there might be a problem…

@feliciaschwartz Those are some great accomplishments! I’m a junior right now and was wondering if you could share what steps your son took to get accepted into Case PPSP. I’m really interested in being accepted to that program and would love to know what I have to do to make it happen. Thanks!
