Case Western Reserve Program anybody?

yess i got an interview

me too! hey when are you planning on going? also did you get interview for anyother ba/md?

tealover-you should already know mine as ive already responded to the question for you. i am, however, interested to know which programs you are interviewing for. also if its not too personal, rank them?

can those of you who got accepted post your stats?

eh my stats arent anything special at all. just looking at my stats u would say i had no chance. i would say the essay(s) are really what got me the interview. (if you are dying to know my stats, you can search through my previous posts. they are somewhere in there. im too lazy to find them)

tealover-
congrats! i'm interviewing on april 7th.
i've gotten interviews to programs at caltech, washu, pitt, northwestern, pitt, drexel, and vanderbilt. what about you?

mjchiu2k-
what bs/md programs have you applied to? you haven't answered it for me...lol

congrats hpn. thats an impressive list you got there. do you mind ranking them by preference?

i've interview invitations for usc, caltech, and ppsp. didnt get them from wash and northwestern. im waiting to hear from rice and osu eap. fortunately i already got interviews at my top two choices so w/e happens there im happy... at least until acceptances come out.

hah yea wow, impressive list

sorry mjchiu2k, I was asking more in general for everyone

I only got an interview for PPSP so far. I only applied for Case, NU, USC, and Rice. USC (long story but no interview nevertheless) and I didn't get one for NU. My stats are just ok 2290 sat, 3.84uw gpa, lots of research

I am not sure when to go yet, but I will probably take either the 3rd or 4th because I used to go to school in cleveland so I will probably hang out with my friends

hpn1491, that list you have there is pretty impressive. do you mind posting your stats, so we can have an idea of the caliber of students they're looking for?

also did anyone else (other than me) that got rejected from the case ppsp get the highest trustees' scholarship? i have the feeling the scholarship might be a pity prize for some of those who did not get interviews. also, since it is the highest scholarship, i'm curious as to how the criteria of the scholarship differs from the ppsp. being the highest scholarship, i am assuming that, like the ppsp, it is also very competitive and hard to get. however, if people who even got rejected from the interview got this highest scholarship, that should mean that those who did get interviews are better. however, i find it hard to believe that **everyone **who got an interview also got the highest trustees' scholarship. if that is not the case, maybe they should reevaluate their criteria.

Eraser: Remember though, the trustee scholarship is based on academic merits and you general undergraduate application, extra-curriculars, etc. The PPSP program will specifically be looking for medical research, volunteering in medical field, interest in medicine as shown through your essay, etc.
The criteria for the 2 things are not the same.

i agree w/ john. the best students may not make the best doctors.

Eraser: since you seem interested, i also got trustee. I am sure that you are qualified, but I am guessing that they probably give many more trustee scholarships than they have interview spots. Its just like admissions at any selective university.. the adcoms usually have to turn down the majority of qualified candidates.

well honestly, I don't really have a top choice. I haven't visited any of the campuses except for the ones I've already interviewed at (drexel and northwestern). For me, it really will prolly come down to which place I feel the most comfortable at and which school gives me the most money. I've received mostly full tuition scholarships so far, but i'm still waiting on a few more schools.

as for my stats, they're good, but nothing exceptional.
SAT: 2300
SAT2: Math II-800, Chem-790, USHIS-750
GPA: idk...but i'm 1/232

i think my major hook was my research. i've done well at a few science competitions, so i think that's what really set me apart.

and to answer a previous post, i also received the trustee's scholarship, so i think both considerations are independent of each other.

hey kind of a weird question, but any chance case is paying for our plane tickets? :P

To Those Who Got Accepted,

Please share your stats as the followings:
State of residency
SAT1
ACT
SAT2
AP
HS Rank
Essay, Recommendation letters, Interview
ECs
List of BA/BS-MD program that you applied
Others .......

Thanks,

What kind of questions do they ask?

is it all more personality stuff or do they ask you about MEDICINE? and how much you know?

I have my interview for Case Western and I was just wondering how I should be mentally prepared. for any one who has already interview, any imput would be nice. thanks!
