Case Women's Swim Team?

Does anyone have a daughter on the Case Women’s Swim Team? How does she like it? What is good or bad about it?

My friend’s daughter is a freshman on the swim team…I know she was looking for a school where swim would not be her entire life (like at a Division 1 school) …I can ask further questions if you like.

Ok I asked my friend’s daughter the swimmer and this is what she said: “Honestly I love the swim team. The coach is very approachable, understanding, nice, and he knows his stuff. He really tailors the work outs to fit each swimmer’s strengths. The workouts are very manageable for swimmers of all abilities and the practice schedule fits well into our academic schedules. All of the girls (and guys) on the team are easy to get along with and supportive in and out of the pool. None of them are clique-y and they are all very down to earth and open to any newcomers. From the moment I arrived on campus, everyone, even the upperclassmen swimmers, felt like family. I honestly can’t think of anything bad about the program or the people!”

ALso she says “. I definitely would suggest the student to email our head coach and ask him about our program, maybe even schedule a visit! I’m sure he would love to talk to her, even if she isn’t sure about swimming in college”

Thanks for the information.

She did send a note to the coach, and I am hoping to get her there next week for a visit.

She loves to swim, and should be able to contribute to the team, but does not want to make it a job. She is also very sociable, and I think she is also concerned about her ability to balance an engineering workload, swim team, and friends. She is a very hard worker, but striking some level of balance is important to her.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

That sounds pretty much like my daughter’s friend…didn’t want it to be a job. I think because of the sheer time you spend with them your swim team buds will be your friends. When you visit see if you can talk to some of the swimmers about the balance. The good thing about Div 3 is if you drop swimming it has no impact on your scholarships.
