It sounds like all of the interviews are v different
Hello! I just received notification that I am a semi-finalist for my region. I’ve already done an interview and whatnot. I was wondering what the process towards the decisions coming later this month looks like.
Anyone from ASSE hear back yet?
I was told that ASSE would hear back in the first week of April. I live in Southern California.
@jismis01 what region are you in? In the ASSE region being a semi-finalist seems to mean that you got an interview.
AFS FINALIST!!! To everyone who made it congrats!! To all alternates, it is possible, just keep believeing. And to all people who will or have been rejected keep trying. You put so much work into this, just keep trying your hardest!
@formerfirstgen I believe CIEE. I live in the Southeast
@Thxsruknfr do you know how many alternates they pick?
@nycsenior525 it depends on region, but usually 80 alternates are chosen.
@Thxsruknfr congratulations! How did you hear? email? phone?
@formerfirstgen Thank you!! I heard by email, but another girl in my region heard by phone. I’m kinda of happy I heard by email, or else I would have probably screamed so loud, I would have broken the callers eardrum.
Anyone have any news on YFU?
Anyone heard from ASSE?
@cbears12121 YFU has started rolling out some decisions. They said that acceptance notifications will continue to come throughout this month and next month.
Got an email from YFU a few hours ago that I was accepted!
found out a few hours ago that i was moved from alternate to finalist status for AfS!!!
It is great to hear the good news rolling out.
Congratulations!
I think ASSE region is staying true to their previous word about April. It is hard to wait.
Ah, I’m so anxious to find out
@reddress , just wondering, what state are you in? I’m from Illinois, so maybe they’re going state by state? I have no idea how the system works but haha
@cbears12121 From talking to other applicants, it does not seem to be on a state-by-state basis. Honestly, I do not think that there’s a special order to it, unfortunately.
