CC to UC to Med School Concerns

Hey there. I currently attend a community college. I've applied to UCLA, Berkeley and some other UC's as a bio major. I have a 4.0 g.p.a., I'm TAP certified, I've completed my pre-req's, and I will have completed 84 semester units by the end of spring 2010. I'm not really worried about my acceptance chances; they should be pretty high.

My concerns are mostly about med school. I've consistently read that med schools frown upon people taking their pre-reqs at community college. Unfortunately, I could not avoid doing so as UCLA and other schools required that I completed those classes before transferring.

So, I was thinking that after transferring I would A) retake some of the pre-reqs [like Ochem], or B) take advanced versions of the pre-req classes.

Do you guys think that these are good ideas, or is my concern unjustified? Medical school is hard enough to get into as it is; I really don't want to further diminish my chances with something stupid like this.

Thanks!

I would suggest taking some higher level classes, just because I don’t think that they will let you retake the pre-reqs if you got an A in them. Also, it still won’t be an accurate representation because you will be retaking them, not learning it all the first time aroudn.
