I noticed that CalTech is always the very first school listed under CC Top Universities? Other schools move around within the list, but not CalTech. The number of posts doesn't seem to be anywhere near other schools. So how is this possible? What criteria is used in the placement of the schools at any given moment? It seems as if CalTech is pegged in that location permanently. I suspect foul play here - possibly the work of some CalTech students?

I suspect sorting by alphabetical order.

Right. What tripped me up was the spacing of the schools whose name took up more than one line. So much for my suspicion. :)

I lol’d pretty hard at this.

Though it is alphabetical, it is also true that Caltech is the Number One ranked college in the world this year!!

So it is not just CC that puts Caltech on the top of the list!

not trying to be mean but I also got quite the chuckle. If you can’t figure out this ‘trick’ you might not be Caltech material :)

Ah, I think it’s more that Caltech-material students are more focused on specific concepts and things like this can just slip past them! My middle son is at MIT and my younger son was accepted EA to MIT and Caltech, yet they’re probably some of the most oblivious people you’ll meet. My best example is when my MIT son came home over Thanksgiving for his first time home. He took a shower and came out and said sarcastically “Thanks everyone for leaving me hot water!” I was a bit perplexed as we recently got a new hot water heater and usually that’s not a problem at all. My older son (also home from a different college out of state) said to him “You know in Wisconsin the hot water is to the left” and MIT-son just got an “oops” look on his face and said “That’s stupid!” Really, though, if you were standing in cold water, wouldn’t you at least LOOK at the faucet to see which side had the H or the C? Evidently not!

That’s one of the reasons I maintain this is a science, and not an engineering, school. ;)

^^LOL!! If that’s the case my son is definitely at the right college!
