CC vs Small 4yr College

Which option for someone who wants to transfer?

Depends on your grades and many other factors. I know that the CC I teach at is very well regarded, and the kids who earn high GPA's, 3.8 to 4.0, have no difficulty transferring anywhere they want, even Ivies.

And when the earn an AA degree all their credits transfer, too, which is a big plus.

The Community College is certainly less expensive as well.

I don't have experience with transfers from four year schools so I hope someone else answers about that.

transferring from a 4 yr institution will be a bit difficult, primarily in the dealings of whether or not the classes you will take are on par with your targeted institution's curriculum. My suggestion is to attend a reputable community college and attend for one or two years. As mythmom has stated, your grades will be a primary factor. However, factors such as ECs, jobs, and internships will also heavily influence your application.
