Any CCS Math students (or parents) out there? I'm interested in hearing thoughts (pros and cons) on the program and how it compares to math programs at other UCs and at Cal Poly SLO. Thanks!

Since it is a relatively small program you’re unlikely to get many replies from this forum. CCS has come up before, you can find those threads by searching here. But what I suggest you do is call CCS to see if they have any upcoming information sessions, and also go over your questions. I’ve heard they really try to reach out and help prospective students. They are trying to carve out a real personalized experience at a large U. If you can visit campus they might be able to find a current CCS Math student you can talk with. Also some colleges will put you in phone or email contact with a student volunteer that you can chat with; worth asking if they do this. Had you asked in December you also could have asked if they could put you in touch with a current student from your hometown area that you could meet up with for coffee when they were home on break; I’ve heard colleges do that too.

I’m fairly sure they will have a CCS admitted students day after the admissions come out in March. Actually, I think it is a subset of UCSB’s admitted student day. I can’t speak to the math department at CCS, but I know that some other departments do have special presentations. If you get in, you will be able to compare notes at that time.
