<p>Hows t-mobile service on campus and off (surrounding city) in terms of coverage and signal? What would you recommend, any discounts for students on a family plan?</p>

<p>My son uses a prepaid calling card and his (free) phone in his room. The phone in the room includes voice mail and free local calls. If you look around for prepaid calling cards, you can get them very cheap. He says he sees absolutely no use for a cell on campus. If someone wants him? they can call him or email him and he'll return the call when he's not in class. Not much help answering your question, I'm sure...but the call card is sure a lot cheaper than the cell. BTW, I have Verizon and have good coverage on campus. Family plans? You would have to call your carrier as they are all different.</p>
