Hey, I was wondering if it's normal to change your cell phone # at school or if most people keep their local #'s and plans...

why would you change your #?

yeah, there's no real reason to change your number because most people get free long distance with their plans. plus it's a pain in the ass to memorize another number :/

But won't people who call from local lines around your college have to pay long distance fees when they call your cell phone line, even if you're only a few blocks away from them? We're dealing with this problem as well.

this is true. i was thinking in terms of college student <-> college student. although, the number of times that may happen (under normal circumstances) is extremely low, and even then they can probably borrow someone else's phone to call you. heh.

if you call cell phone to cell phone there won't be any long distance fees. all college students do that anyway.

im keeping my california number. almost all cell plans now have free long distance and most ppl have cell phones. so i dont think friends being charged long distance will be that big of a problem. you might run into it onece or twice. but i want to keep my number so friends at home can reach me without having to give them a new munber.

i'm thinking about changing plans. to current nyu students: which provider gets the best reception at nyu?

i don't know about you, but my favorite is Verizon. Nationwide calling, free long distance, IN calling...

yea, i dont go to nyu yet, but through my experiences going to hs in the same area verizon has worked the best for me
