If you are given 8 dining credits and 200 plus dollars per quarter, do you think that is enough for food? Someone has told me that the meals are a lot and can serve for lunch/dinner. Is this true?

How much extra money should I bring if I am living in the apartments?

the cerro meal plans are definitely enough. get the cheapest meal plan possible since they are a huge rip off. the food is edible, but not exactly healthy and there are a ton of cheaper, better tasting options available at the grocery store (even like frozen meals or sandwiches you can make yourself if you just buy some bread and stuff to put in them). I would recommend using your “meals” to buy stuff like water and other drinks, fruit, and pre-packaged snacks. Use your plus dollars to buy stuff you like at campus market. If you want to use meals to buy actual meals, go to Einstein’s.

As far as extra money goes, it really depends. If you’re just talking about groceries, I say expect to spend anywhere from $15-$50 dollars a week, depending on how much you eat, what you eat, and where you shop.

I’m about to start my second year and I stayed in Cerro last year. The meal plan is definitely enough; just make sure to ration your plus dollars throughout the quarter. I will admit though that I ate out downtown 4-5 times a month though, so your mileage may vary.
