Certificates Value

Hi,

I need help please. I graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in TV Production in 2010 and immediately moved to L.A. I did two internships and since then I've been freelancing in Los Angeles which is not easy and sucks quite honestly. I've been discouraged a little bit by the entertainment industry in California to be honest. I've been thinking of having a back-up and maybe explore other fields in the future.

I've always liked Marketing (this would have always been my 2nd choice) and I found two marketing certificate programs at CSU Dominguez Hills and UCLA Extension. Now my question is: Do you guys think a certificate is worth it and will teach me what I need or should you go for a masters, associate's, another Bachelors.

Thanks in advance for your help

Pay a visit to the career office at that U and ask about job placement for people who have completed the certificate program. They will have information for you.

I would not be so optimistic that they will have any reliable placement data. Most FT schools do not do a good job reporting placement data and I’d expect a part-time program to be worse. Good place to try though.
