I lift weights and run a mile every day (almost). I can do about 65 sit-ups but only 40 push ups...I feel that my lifting weights has hindered my push up ability because when i was in 10th grade i could do at least 50-60 push ups. If anyone knows what im talking about please respond with advice on how to increase my push ups, thanks.

Do push ups, or life lower weights but do higher reps.

I used to have the same problem.

yeah im not sure if it has something to do with my muscles getting tight from such high weight or something but yeah i plan on doing a lot thanks

It might be that your weight lifting technique is causing your problem. Maybe check with the weightlifting teacher, coach etc...My son is not using lower weights at all; in fact more. He does work different groups on different days but his actual technique has helped with more power and no injury.

40 is fine...i did 32 and just passed. I'm really skinny and lifted weights and it seemed to help not hinder. good luck though
