Challenges at Rural Colleges

mom60, feel so sorry for your DD!

For us, the issue of too rural has had more to do with travel -- time and expense (especially considering what airline flight prices have done the last couple of years). S has considered Bowdoin, but for him to get home would mean nearly an hour's bus ride, then 2 long flights.

It has been nice having D close enough that she can get a non-stop flight and avoid missed connections, etc. We never really thought about that very much with her -- travel was not a large component in the equation. It's much more a factor now for S.
