bump.......#3

anyone?

seeing as how I am having the same problem w/nobody responding to my chances, i will respond to yours. haha (check out mine if u get a chance, its the one with bwahaha in the title)

well first off, since there are 8 peeps applyin from ur school, then hopefully your stats can hang with theirs or are better. secondly, your SATs are great for a math-oriented intended degree (hopefully that is what you listed). I'd say you have a very good shot. the only thing possibly detracting is only in the top 15% of a small class.

I would say that your scores are kinda low, especially for Arts and Sciences. What event did you do in "public speaking."

And what is this University Run Forensics Program? aka: camp?

Thanks for the replies. In forensics I'm involved in Radio Announcing and Poetry/Prose Interpretation. The program was the George Mason Institute of Forensics, which I suppose you could easily call a camp.

The other applicants this year do scare me, as they are all as qualified as I am academically, hopefully my ECs will stand out in some way.

You scores are good enough, but I don't think they'll make you stand out in any great way. Your EC's are fine but there's no common theme... I can't even begin to guess what major you're applying for... I think that if you write a really strong essay explaining why you chose cornell and why you fit into the particular program you could have a shot. I know they're REALLY big on fit so you'll need to tie your activities/past experiences in with the school.

Don't worry about your school's histroy with Cornell. I'm the first student to apply to Cornell in 4 years and I was accepted :-)

If you give us more info about your future plans maybe we could suggest some essay ideas! good luck
