OP has the awards (namely Intel) to be competitive even as an Asian male at those colleges, I read in an older Crimson article that 25% of isef winners are at Harvard, which is as a goods odds as you’re going to get for an Asian. However that also means 75% are rejected. I think colleges that don’t use race as much like MIT, Cal Tech, Harvey Mudd would be better, along with your state flagship as match or safety, but the OP didn’t mention those colleges.
OP, I’m assuming your major is a science since you listed Harvard and Yale and what’s your home state?
By the way, have you looked into whether your school is a feeder? T10 in the nation is pretty good, and if it’s TJHSST or Exeter or the like, you have an even better chance of getting in.
My school is definitely a feeder and I am applying to my state school, but I don’t want to share for the sake of anonymity as lots of my classmates are on CC. My intended major is chemistry, but I also am considering double majoring with Philosophy. Right now, I’m in the process of deciding whether I should apply ED to Columbia or Cornell for a better chance at getting(both schools are amazing for my intended major) or if I should apply SCEA to more “prestigious” schools like Harvard. I don’t care much about the prestige of a school but Harvard has one of the best chemistry programs in the world and I believe it is much better for philosophy than Cornell.
If you are a New Jersey resident, your state flagship Rutgers has a well regarded philosophy department.
Which college within Cornell? For Columbia are you considering CC or SEAS?
