Chance a Junior

Hi College Confidential,

I currently have just started junior year. Here are my stats:

GPA: 3.68 [bad freshman 3.3, sophomore 3.95, right now 3.81 (will be 3.9 soon)]
Rank: school doesn't rank (very good Jesuit private school, #2 in state and #237 overall). I would guess about top 10-13% at worst.
ACT: haven't taken it yet, PLAN estimates me at 28-32. I plan on going for 31-35.
APs so far: AP Human Geo sophomore year (5), taking AP US History, AP Biology, and AP Lang now

ECs: Speech and debate (National Forensic League), U.S. Senate campaign volunteering, hospital biochemistry department research volunteer

Race: Asian Income Bracket: 200K+

Planned Major: double in Biology/Poli Sci

Assuming I do get a 31-35, what are my chances of getting into:

UNC Chapel Hill
Emory University
Tufts University
Brandeis University
Boston University (safety?)
Harvard University
University of Chicago
Carleton College
Northeastern University
Boston College
New York University
UCLA
USC

Thanks!

Chris

It’s very hard to predict at this stage. There is a huge difference between a 31 and a 35 so that also changes a lot depending on what you actually get. You also didn’t show how strong your ec’s are which again, is difficult to do at this stage in the game. I recommend trying your best this year and posting again after the year is over. You have great potential. Chance me please?

^ I agree. It’s also very hard to chance top schools in the U.S. Re-make this thread after you’ve taken your ACT to get better feedback.
Please chance back: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1672761-chance-me-for-stanford-university.html

Have you prepared for the ACT test over the summer? What is your current practice score? This would be the minimum data for chancing.
Keep your hard work to bring up the GPA.
