So, here goes:

SATs: CR: 730 M: 630 WR: 740
SAT IIs: Lit: 800 (woo!!) math level 1: 670
GPA: 3.98 unweighted
Class rank: valedictorian
White male, parents hold masters degrees, low income bracket

Strong essays, extremely strong recommendations, good interview, visited three times (I can't help it, haha)
When I visited, I talked to the chair of the Linguistics department about my interest in linguistics, and we had a great talk and he said he would put in a good word for me in admissions.

I go to a school where there are no "honors" or "AP" classes, only honors credit for "exceptional work", which I have for almost all my classes.

I save money up from my job teaching the cello to go to Europe in the summers, to work on my languages. I speak french moderately well (French with listening 610) and German rather poorly, but I'm working on it :D

I am a 2nd Degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do, and am an instructor at my martial arts school, and I have won several medals in competitions. I have been playing the cello for ten years, and I teach seven students.

I sen in a writing sample, but they classified it as creative when I put it down as "other: analytical" - is that really awful?

Thanks so much, I applied early decision I, so I should be hearing the big news soon!!
