Chance a progressive student? Will chance back!

First to start, my top college choices are:
1) University of Rochester 2)Lafayette 3)Union 4)Lehigh 5) RPI 6) WPI 7) Holy Cross 8)Tulane 9) UMaryland and 10) UConn (are in relative order of favorites)

my dream is U of R. I would apply early decision but I can't commit like that with my financial situation. I am lower to middle class (in a rich neighborhood), my parents have been jobless for the past 2 years but my dad just got employed last week.

I am currently a Junior at a very competitive public high school in new Hampshire, one of the two that has IB courses in their program. I took the SATs in May without studying beforehand and got a 1900, 620 math 640 in reading and writing. I would expect to see a 2100 in the fall after my SAT Course. I am also taking Math Level 1 and Chemistry subject test in the fall, with a prospected 720+ score in math and around an 800 in Chemistry (i <3 chem)

I am a little worried I not get into the colleges listed above because my weighted cumulative GPA is only 3.86 at the end of this year because I did bad freshman year. Overall, on a 4.0 scale, I am a 3.7 which isn't bad but I could have done better. Freshman year I got a 3.486 (in easy classes), in sophomore year I got a 3.825 (honors courses, some easy) and this year I have attained a 4.3, with all A's in honors/IB and AP courses (filled my schedule with electives/ no study hall).

AP Psychology test - 4/5 (haven't gotten it back yet)

As a senior next year, I will be taking Senior Project, IB History, IB Literature, IB Physics, IB Chemistry and IB Spanish, and Pre-Calculus. I suspect to have all A's on my transcript for Senior Year by the time I apply for college.
I am a 3 season athlete, running track in both spring and winter, and I also play soccer in the fall. I am involved with Club Project Reach, National Honor Society and I will be the treasurer for Harvard Model United Nations next year for my school. I have around 100+ community service hours and plan to log around 100+ more this summer by working with political rallies in my neighborhood and volunteering at various organizations. I have been apart of DECA for two years and was a part of the Quantum Physics Club. This summer I will also be spending 2 weeks in Ireland with an exchange for some cultural enrichment. I also plan on peer tutoring underprivileged kids in a city nearby.
I am also actively involved with my Church. I volunteer a lot for various service projects etc.

My Counsellor's recommendation will explain why I lacked Freshman and Sophomore year (family issues) and my other recommendation is from my Chemistry teacher who loves me.

I am interested in Chemistry or Chemical engineering.

(I am also a white male)

PLEASE PLEASE HONESTLY CHANCE ME. I WILL CHANCE BACK!!!
And give suggestions on how to improve my resume!

Colleges (from my knowledge at tours and whatnot) like seeing improvement - a solid explanation about the grades seems to be acceptable. I am from the south, so I know little about these schools. I think good essays would also help, but from what I see can’t imagine why you wouldn’t be competitive at these schools.

I think you would definitely get into U of R and some of the other schools that you listed. If U of R has early action, you should apply for that. Early action is very similar to ER except you aren’t required to go to the school once accepted. Though GPA is a big factor, most of these schools want a well rounded student, which it seems like you are. Everything else you have will balance it out.

Hope I Helped!
