I’ve traveled a lot in the Middle East (Syria, Egypt, Lebanon, and Yemen) and was planning on incorporating that somehow into my personal statement
I have 2 cousins at Columbia university and a cousin who worked as an admissions officer for 4 years (not sure if this helps me at all since it doesn’t qualify me as a legacy)

Looking back @ the process, chancing is kind of impossible at a school where only 6% of applicants get in. Even if half are unqualified, the other half certainly are.

You have good stats and interesting ECs on par with admitted students - if you write good essays, I think you have a fair chance. This is JMO, but I would ask your cousins about CU so you can perhaps personalize your essay more.

Asking them is definitely great advice. I probably wouldn’t have thought to do that haha. Thank you!

You seem like an interesting person, reflect this in your essays and they’ll be intrigued. You seem to stand a reasonable chance! (By that I mean you’re in the competitive zone - no one can say they can definitely get in but you know)
