Chance at the Ivies? (and some others)

Hey everyone. I am a Junior, and I have a desperate desire to get into a top-notch school. My top choices right now are Yale (probably Early Decision), Princeton, Harvard, Dartmouth, M.I.T., and Duke. I would really appreciate chances!

Notes
I transferred schools between Sophomore and Junior years. Because of this, my scheduling is pretty bad. I have a free second period. In a way this is made up halfway by the ToK class second semester, but while I am taking 6.5 classes, my classmates are taking 7.5 (their extra one being IB Chemistry). In addition, most of my classmates are taking AP Calculus instead of my Precal.

I have a semester open in my senior year, because next year ToK is not in the morning. Any suggestions one what I can fill the other semester with? Can I take an AP class in one semester?

Performance

Projected GPA: 5.1 - 5.3
Current Rank: 2 / about 150
Projected Rank: 4 or 5 / 150

AP Classes (first two were definite; others are projected scores)

AP Human Geography (3-- my bad)
AP World History (5)

AP Psychology (5)
AP Literature (4)
AP USH (5)

AP Biology (5)
AP Statistics (5)
AP Spanish (4)

Is it worth self-studying classes for more AP test grades? I think I could easily self-study AP Econ and AP Government. Is it worth it?

IB Information

I plan on getting my IB diploma. All of my IB classes listed above give me AP credit GPA-wise. I have so few AP classes because the IB classes take precedence.

Standardized Tests

I have not taken these officially yet. As follows are my goals:

SAT: 2200
ACT: 34
SAT II (USH): 800
SAT II (Biology): 800
SAT II (Math II): 800

(Side question: is it worth taking the SAT II Literature and then if I do bad, I cancel it-- but if I do well, it is just another test I did well on? That seems like a good idea, but I don't want to take it and get a 600 if I cannot make sure colleges don't see it--my reading comprehension sucks).

Please chance :)

bumpppppppppppppp

Everyone has goals. Whether you can actually achieve them is a different matter.

Your classes and your grades are great. It’d be nice to organize your extracurricular a little bit more. I can see some focus, but you’re doing great.
I want to say you have very high chances, but all those Ivies are crapshoots. You could be extremely qualified, but they could still very well reject you. Keep working hard, it’ll pay off sooner or later!

on what scale is your gpa? But, regardless it is a very challenging schedule and if you can manage the projected scores on your ACT/SAT you should have a 70+ chance. http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1080282-chances-usc-u-i-ucla.html</a> help me out?

The schools you are looking at are reaches for everybody, but you have just as good a chance as most top applicants for being accepted. good job!

Thanks everyone! I welcome any more responses!

P.S. If you want me to chance back, just give a link.

Its difficult to tell without test scores. However, based on your academics, I think you have a chance to get in to a top notch school.
