Chance at top schools (ivies)?

<p>I just finished my Junior year and I would please like to know how I stand in terms of being accepted at the top schools. (ill def chance you back just post a link)</p>

<p>Gender: M
Race: Welsh, German, Chinese (what a mix right...)
Location: Florida, Top 10 high school in nation according US news and world report
(selective public)</p>

<p>GPA: 4.0 unweighted 4.8 weighted
Rank: School does not rank
SAT I: 2280 760-Math 740-CR 780-W
SAT II: US HIST-730 Math I-740 Going to definitely take more during Fall</p>

<p>Classes Taken:
All have been honors that are not AP- World History(4) Lang (?) US(5 for sure) Enivro (?)
Classes next year:
AP Physics C
AP Calc BC
AP Lit
AP Macroeconomics
AP Stat
Chinese II hon
Government hon</p>

<p>I expect recs and essays to be good</p>

Varsity Tennis (9,10,11,12)
Captain of Tennis team (11)
Played #1 Junior year and Won Districts and Regionals and #1 doubles (10,11)
Placed 4th and 5th respectively in state tennis championships
(won various local tennis tournaments that I wont bother mentioning here)
member of Tae kwon do Masters Club
First Degree Blackbelt
1st place in Regional Envirothon competition
National Honor Society Member (11,12)
Mu Alpha Theta Math Club member
<strong>I don't know if this is relevant but in 2004 i was Selected to the State select all star ice hockey team and won the world championships in Quebec</strong></p>

<p>Internship Stuff
* On and off internship from 8th-12th at Global Signal. Studying the business aspects
* summer of 2008 went to Saudi Arabia on internship and stayed at the dipolatic quarters
(US Embassy) with Michael Porter to Deliver Porter Prize and also worked on the Saudi Fast Growth 100 studying Saudi Women Entrepreneurs
* Internship this summer at Standard tile Company studying business aspects
* Will attend some leadership thing at Stanford later this summer</p>

<p>Not at schools like stanford or harvard but like MIT or maybe dartmouth. Next week im goin up to visit schools and will probably meet with some of the coaches.</p>

<p>You have a great GPA and SAT score- try to aim for +750 on those SAT IIs if you can, it’ll give you a more competitive edge. You have pretty good ECs- they’re not very diverse though, it just seems like tennis and leadership stuff? HYPMS etc are going to be reaches obviously. I’d say low reach for Brown/Dartmouth and a very very very good chance at Penn (b/c of Legacy, mostly) In at your safeties and high match for Duke/Emory

<p>Yale - reach (the ivies are unpredictable, after all they reject 2400 SATs!!!)
Harvard - reach (same as above)
Stanford - reach (not all that familiar with this school)
Brown - lower reach than HYP, but still reach
MIT(pretty much in cause i can play tennis) - low reach
Dartmouth - reach
Penn (Wharton) (Legacy) - reach (best chance at Ivy)
Princeton - reach
UVA - in
UF and Univ of miami (Safties) - in

<p>Sounds like you have an edge with athletics, and you have good enough SAT scores. Instead of taking more SAT II’s, maybe you should just retake the ones you already have and aim for better scores? Also, I’m a legacy at Wharton too, and I heard that if you don’t apply ED, your legacy status becomes kind of irrelevant.</p>

UNF - safety - but once again I don’t know much about this one
