If you’re doing engineering then probably no-V tech engineering majors usually have 4.0 and above (weighted)

Most kids who got into V tech (instate and not engineering) from the more populated areas (like NOVA) had about 3.7 or above (weighted) (but it’s always harder to get in to schools when you live in the more populated instate areas-so if you’re not from NOVA or someplace similar you can probably have a lower gpa)

A lot of kids who look at tech also look at George Mason University and James Madison University. They also look at Christopher Newport, Mary Washington, Radford, and Old Dominion University. Longwood is another state school.

Yeah, I’d say it’s a pretty high reach. That does depend on what area you’re from though and if you’re an ethnicity and/or a first generation college student (they’re trying to diversify). Personally, I’m from NOVA with a 4.11 weighted GPA and a 2010 SAT and I’m not sure that I’ll get in due to the intense competition. However, I think you’d have a chance at George Mason, Radford, Longwood, ODU, and maybe JMU. Good luck!
