I’m not an expert, but you defiantly have a chance. Both your ACT and SAT scores are spectacular. I wish I had those scores ;). However, aren’t some of those schools focused much more on engineering than politics(such as Tufts and John Hopkins)? You must also take in consideration they GPA/grades and class rank play a bigger role than test scores. A 4.7 GPA, which I assume is weighted, isn’t anything crazy. If you get a handful of Bs or Cs every year, it’ll defiantly hurt you’re chances. Nonetheless, you’re a strong applicant. I’m sure you’ll get into many of those schools.

You’re competitive. Just focus on your essays so that you don’t end up getting shut out of every school.

tufts and johns hopkins both have nationally recognized international relations/politics departments, fyi

What is your uwGPA? Where is your home state?

You have a good shot at all the schools beside Princeton, UPenn, and Cornell. Those are high reaches. Chance back?: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1778302-chance-an-asian-yale-duke-williams.html#latest

UW GPA is around a 3.7

Very strong application but your 3.7 is going to be something you need to overcome. My advice is to narrow your list down and focus on 3 or 4 reach schools. Don’t waste your ED shot either. If 40 students/year go to Ivys, I’m guessing your guidance counselor ought to be able to provide effective guidance

ap scores also just came in:

Bio:4
Macro:4
Compgov: 5
USgov: 5
Micro: 4
Human Geo: 4

National Ap Scholar

Your uwGPA may hurt your chance at top schools. Your test scores are great but some schools like UMich consider GPA to be the most important factor and their average admission GPA was 3.85. So it would be a low reach for you considering the low admission rate for OOS students.
