And the counselor letter is just to explain my situation at the time…it’s not a recommendation per se but where would I include this? and does it count as a recommendation none the less (including the evaluation form?)? or not?

BUMP 10 char

umm i agree that ec’s are amazing and yes if you show improvement as a person colleges will love you and the vaccine thing would look good too so i think you definately have a chance :)

thanks! =)

Hey bro, how many opinions do you need? I think you’ve got plenty in this thread.

I would honestly say that you are an amazingly qualified applicant, and have a fighting chance at any school in the country. I think the fact that you are extremely well rounded will make them look past a bad grade.

Don’t forget that to maximize your chances, your need to apply early. I don’t how early for ED, but for RD, apply before Dec. 1 (Don’t listen to their deadlines, which are typically Jan. 1 or a few days after that. If you’re on time…you’re late)

Yup. I’m going to apply early (in RD). Thanks!

Am I too lacking for HYPS?

bump 10 char!

I think your research sounds amazing…congratulations on that!!
You should write about that in your essay. It could push you into the schools you want! Not many people can develop a vaccine thats going to be used internationally…you shouldnt worry so much
And if you explain your circumstances,im sure your C shall be taken into account(although it wont help you).No matter what it may seem like on CC,the schools youre looking at reject a lot of students that have stellar grades.Just highlight you EC’s :)

bdw,I have a friend who had only one major thing(but it was pretty big) and she got into HYP and all the schools she applied to! Its not really necessary to have a bunch of small EC’s,a single ‘big’ one overshadows them anyday

PS-AND she was Indian!

What was her big EC? (if you don’t mind telling me)

Thanks!

I just wanna point out that you do have exceptional talent. Yes you have a C, but human beings aren’t no impeccable creatures; if any college rejects you because of that, then they failed to realize themselves as humans. And the only reason why most other people on this thread criticize you because of your C is because flaws are always more recognizable, not to mention people ALWAYS to try to find flaws in others so they can fell good about themselves; nobody wants to feel inferior, so it’s narcissim at work.

hahaha
thanks =)

maybe im stressing out too much

Ouch, the Bs and Cs junior year will hurt A LOT. Also, the downward trend is not good new. Most of the Ivies are out of the reach, IMO.
