enough leadership?? idk

race and location?

haha this looks a lot like my resume. Unlike me, your sats are great, but you need more leadership and clubs; as in found one at your school or do research. Run for officer positions and try for captain. I guess your a senior, so it might be too late. But, you can do a service project or something. You might also be interested in NYU: Stern and UMICH: Ross. Maybe MIT's business school (undergrad), but its an extremely intense school.

, hi, Swimfast, thanks a lot
my 100 y breaststroke is 1:04, and IM is 2:08, good enough to be recruited in Dartmouth or Upenn????????????????

1:04 is good enough to join Penn's team but not necessarily good enough for recruitment. you would really have to talk to the coach before applying.

Yes, Thanks.
This is my Jr. year, and I have one more year to break 1:03 for my 100 y breaststroke. my target for my 100y breaststroke is 1:03 and 200 IM 2:05 before I go to college. and try to standout from the Asian pool.
You know I spend 3hrs in water almost everyday and also keep very good academics.
life is very tough, right???

Are these times you guys are talking about in yards?

1:04 100 Breast is good for Penn?

^ good enough to walk on to the team. a 1:01 or even a 1:02 might get admissions help, though, because it's hard to find breast stroke swimmers. freestylers are a dime a dozen, though.

you might know that 1:01 or 1:02 is anther step on the stage compared to 1:04 , I mean, 100y breaststroke. agree. I know with 1:02, most will be recruited. Yale's recruitment is 1:00 for 100Y breaststroke with 180AI.

interesting! any of these times good enough for penn consideration?
100 fly: 54.14
50 free: 21.78
100 free: 49.09
100 back: 57.96

i doubt i could swim though... i'm really short haha

50, 100 free and fly are good, 100 kack, probably not, you should be good IMer

Even though I swim a lot too and have always swam, personally, I wouldn't continue in college because I don't want to swim later on; kind of a waste huh. But, from what I hear, Penn's swim team is not spectacular like lets say UMich. Those times are great by the way, so I'd say you are definitely good enough for Penn's team. However, for the swim recruitment to help you chances, it's better to apply ED. It's because minorities, legacies, and athletes are generally chosen as early as possible during selective college's admissions.

Ya I don't think I'm going to swim, it seems like it would be too hard to balance that and actually being a serious Wharton student. I already applied ED and was accepted for Wharton. Maybe I'll look into it, but as you said... it's not something you would continue past college if you're at Penn!

Nice job! I think that's what I want to do next year; apply ed to Wharton. But, I'm not visiting the school until this April. Have you seen the school and is the campus nice?

I think you'll make it. If not, you'll probably get waitlisted for not having more ECs or Leadership spots... BUT THAT ISN'T EVERYTHING guys!

I went to visit during Spring break of my junior year... probably just like you're doing. It's gorgeous, and I love the fact that it has a decently cozy college campus but then it's Philly right there. definitely a great place to spend your 4 years of college. and i mean, even if it was a dump... it's such a good school it wouldn't matter. and if u get into wharton there's simply nothing better for a business student

Hi guys i'm a swimmer too...
any of these times (LONG COURSE METRES) good enough for the ivies?

50m fly: 26.3
100m fly: 57.3
200m fly: 2:05.5

The 50 doesn't really translate for anything but the other two are really, really good. Definitely good enough for Ivies and possibly good enough for big swimming schools as well.

i filled up the Recruitment form on the Upenn swimming site, although i have not officially applied to upenn itself. Am i supposed to expect a reply from the coaches (if they think i'm fit enough for the team), or will they only reply me after i have submitted my applciation?

thanks
