Chance for MIT?

<p>Hello, I'm a junior in high school. I'm exteremly interested in economics, so I'm willing to see if I have any chance of enrolling in MIT.</p>

<p>Ethnicity: Asian Male
State: Alabama
School Size: 2500+ (Public)
Unweighted GPA: 4.00
Weighted GPA: 4.00+</p>

<p>Ap Classes taken: AP World, Ap Lang (taking), AP US 10, AP USH 11 (This school broke it up into 2 parts -sigh-), AP Stats.</p>

<p>Ap Exams taken: AP World (5)</p>

<p>AP Exams to be taken: APUSH and AP Lang</p>

<p>ACT: Will get at least 34. So I'd say, 34+</p>

<p>SAT Subject Tests: AP World (800), Physics (Will take), Math II (Will take)</p>

<p>Senior Year Course load: AP Literature, AP Economy, AP Macro Government, AP Physics, AP Spanish, AP Calculus, and AP Biology</p>

<p>Volunteer hours (@ local library and hospital): 100+ (sad face)</p>

<p>Extracurricular: JV Soccer, Rec Soccer (All stars), Math Team, Science Club, Spanish Club, Beta Club (9th), NHS(10th), Mock Republican Election organizer (School-wide project to... do election. lol)</p>

<p>Class Rank: Don't know yet, but top 0.1% for sure. (Out of ~600)</p>

<p>Income Range: 60,000~80,000</p>

<p>Special Traits: Not sure if this counts... But I transferred schools 13 times..?
We've gone through EXTREME poverty.</p>

<p>Awards: Highest Average, etc... (Mostly all academic)</p>

<p>Think about it a little… Your stats ate definitely solid, but then again, I’m pretty sure so are everyone else’s who apply to MIT. Try to focus on something that will really set you apart from other applicants. Not trying to be a downer, you definitely have a chance with your resume but I don’t quite see anything that would stick to the readers mind. Maybe use your school transfers in essay to show overcoming extreme challenges. Hope this helps</p>

<p>make sure you describe your life situation a lot, it adds a lot of unique character to you that MIT would like. basically what somebo123 said
