<p>btw quick question, will i have a better chance at admission the sooner i apply? i know its important to apply before the nov 31 deadline, but will i have a better chance at admission if i apply say in september rather than november? or it doesn’t matter as long as i apply before nov 31</p>
<p>you should apply as early as you can</p>
<p>as far as essay help- I do not think it is frowned upon at all- as long as you don’t actually have someone write the essay for you. Your personal voice should shine through. </p>
<p>However, someone can help you with things like critiquing the structure, content and grammar of the essay in order to help you to improve it.</p>
<p>I don’t know that applying early will help with the SHC application; I believe they are considered as a group. If taking more time allows you to put together a better application, I recommend taking the additional time. </p>
<p>It can also be helpful to take a first run at the essays, then put them aside for a week and look at them later with fresh eyes. Occasionally students ask for essay review in the Parents’ Forum. I don’t know how successful they are with it, but you might do a quick search over there and see what kind of response others have received. There are some very helpful parents posting there.</p>

<p>I am not positive, but I am fairly sure that when my S applied our HS collected all the SHC apps and then messengered them to admissions together, just before the deadline.</p>
<p>You can always email the College and ask.</p>

<p>Great, good luck! It can be helpful to apply early for regular PSU admission and it is nice to get that big envelope early. 
BTW, there are only 30 days in November; I would hate for you to be a day late! ;)</p>
