Chance for UCLA BusEcon?

The surge of applicants this year makes me anxious, but I'm hoping my TAP status will give me the bump I need. Chance me?

Applying as Business Economics major

GPA: 3.82
TAP certified / Igetc done

Prereqs: All done but currently finishing up Calc 2 and Honors Managerial Accounting

ECs:
-Interning at a financial firm currently
-President of stock market club, member of business leaders society, and accounting society
-also member of Phi Theta Kappa honor society
-Manager of small business for the past year
-Tutor for financial accounting

Essay: I believe it's fairly strong.

Congrats, you’re in…

How the eff did you end up becoming the manager of a small business?

How are you so sure?

Anyone else with input?

I would say since you have tap, 55-60 percent chance. How are your grade trends by quarter or semester at your CC?

Semester system:

Fall09: AAB
Spring10: AAB
Summer10: AA
Fall 10: AAAAA (3 of which were honors)
Spring11: most likely AAAA (even though they won’t see it)

straight A’s since last spring.

Aha. Dude don’t trust what anyone says regarding chance statistics. I don’t know how many times I’ve said this so here it goes again.

No one on here is qualified to chance you. Why would you ever take their opinion seriously? You can believe them but don’t expect them to console you when the decision says otherwise.

You’re best bet is to look at the numbers, which I’m sure you have. Plus, you already applied. Sit back and await the decision. It is not as if members have any input in the decision. There is no need for reassurance.

I’m sorry if this came off as brash. Wasn’t my intention.

@swagger Last spring of 10, u got a B

Mitch, yeah I know I guess I’m just hoping to get an idea of where I stand in relation to every one else…this next month of waiting is going to be brutal.

Pinoiako, indeed. So yeah, straight A’s for the last 7 courses

do the UCs look at recent grades more closely? i had a 3.65 my first year at a 4 year school, since i transfered to CC my gpa has been 3.98 (1 a-).

@now510, they look at everything like grade trends. They help a lot.

This is a grade trend:
Semester 1 3.4
Semester 2 3.6
Semester 3 4.0
Semester 4 4.0
Semester 5 4.0
Semester 6 4.0
Semester 7 4.0
Semester 8 4.0

This says that this example student improved over time in that he/she got used to college demands and the work load.

I say you have a 12.3445% chance.
