Yeah, you would have that. Hamilton very much cares about making sure all of its students in all disciplines are confident and clear writers, and so the minimum expectations are more substantial than some other schools with open curricula, but e.g. math classes are still math classes.
In your shoes, assuming you apply early at Penn, I would apply EA to Georgia and then have an ED2 application ready to go, either William and Mary or one of the SLACs currently on your reach list. Since you seem to be drawn to both slacs and PA, maybe schools like Bucknell, Lafayette, Dickinson, or Franklin and Marshall.
Hey y’all, I got back the other day from visiting schools (I’ll do a full write-up on the visits thread when i’m not super busy)!
So I’m really glad I was able to visit, because I didn’t like Penn enough to ED there (and might not even apply RD since it’s such a reach for everyone). American is also off the list as I felt it was super IR/business/comms focused with not as much emphasis on academics. I really liked Gettysburg and UDel though, and LOVED Swarthmore-- it’ll probably be either ED1 or ED2! I have one more visit left, to William and Mary (which has shot up my list on paper), and then I’ll decide where to ED1 and/or ED2.
Thanks to everyone for all the advice so far! Just wanted to give a quick update.
If you would care to say, how has your search been going? Did you submit an ED application?
Yes, I submitted my ED to Swarthmore! It’s my #1 choice and I’m happy I ED’d there, but I’m not hoping for a miracle (just got deferred from UGA, which I expected)
Well, you will know your result pretty soon either way. Best of luck to you!
