Thank you for your reply. Would an improving GPA matter to GTech or is that an unrealistic assumption on my part? Also another general question on if colleges would just take your app out of their list by just looking at your GPA or is the admissions process truly holistic(like they look at everything before deciding).

Universities like GA Tech get plenty of high GPA applicants with top test scores AND impressive ECs. And even many of them don’t get in due to limited space. It’s a reach school for everyone. You’re also in a highly competitive demographic.

Holistic admissions at a selective university
doesnt mean a lower GPA will be overcome with ECs . Many students misunderstand the process. The GAtech admissions folks were very transparent in their virtual sessions about how grades and course rigor are important to them.

@momprof9904 has hit the nail on the head, I think, in terms of a response.

For additional information, Rick Clark, the director of undergraduate admissions at Georgia Tech also has a blog that may be of use to you.

Are your parents here on H1B visa? If so that would place you in H4B status, so you’d be able to study in the US without any additional hassle.

Are you applying for a green card?

Care elaborating on why being on a visa makes admissions harder? I thought you were just compared to students within your context (which for OP is his US high school). I’m also on a Visa and didn’t think that it had any impact unless you asked for financial aid. Thanks!
