Chance me and you'll recieve a mysterious call in about 1 to 444 weeks.

For me, I have an unweighted GPA of 3.41 with all my classes included in this calculation. The problem is, my school weights its GPA on a 7 point scale. I have a 6.27 that way. I was trying to calculate my GPA on a 5 point scale by giving all honors/AP A's as 5 points and all honors/AP B's as 4 points. This ends up giving me an unweighted GPA of 3.41 and a weighted GPA of 4.22. I took all honors/AP classes all 3 years at my school. 5 9th grade, 7 10th grade, 6 11th grade. I did badly in 9th grade because I was out of school for 35 days with surgery (which my GC will mention separately). In 10th grade I was just dumb and loaded my self with too many classes. In 11th grade I got all A's and 1 B. The thing I'm finding strange, is that the posts on college data, the kids have UW GPA's of around 3.8 and then weighted GPA's of around 4.1. This is prob b/c they are taking less honors/AP classes but I just wanted to make sure I was calculating mine right. I am 99% sure I am but still wanted to check.

Some other things are:
SAT's: 740Cr, 720mth, 720wr- 2180

EC's are above average but I don't feel like writing all that out. I am a part of the Biomedical Research program for governors school this summer.

How are my chances at these schools?:

-Wake Forest
-Case Western
-Lehigh
-University of North carolina - chapel hill
-Boston College
-Vanderbilt
-CMU
-University of Rochester
-The College of NJ

Banerjee? Bengali, huh. Sorry, I can't offer much insight as far as your chances, but bengalis rock :)

So if your uw GPA on a 5pt scale is a 3.41 then on a 4.0 scale (standard) your GPA is lower...that's bad.

Your scores are pretty solid for all of your schools (assuming CMU is not for the engineering school), with UNC-CH being the biggest 'reach' as it's OOS.

That said, your GPA is probably more of a 2.something on a normal scale (uw A=4.0) and that's low. A lot of these schools are going to look at that number and pass you over. UNC-CH and Wakeforest in particular place a big emphasis on GPA.

This is, of course, assuming that your calculations and my inferences are correct.

Biggest Reaches: BC, Vandy, UNC-CH

Oh no, lol, im not thaaat lazy. My 3.41 is on 4 pt scale. and my 4.22 is on a 5 pt scale.
