Hi guys I’ve applied to Harvard, Yale, Columbia, Princeton, Stanford, MIT, U Penn, U Chicago, Cornell, Caltech and Duke under Regular Decision.
Please change me at these universities, my stats are:
ACT: 36 C, 36 E, 36 M, 34 R, 36 S
School grade: 91/100 marks(very rigorous curriculum )
Predicted grade given by school for senior year:97/100 marks
SAT subject test: Math 2-800, Phy-790, Eng LIT- 770
AP- Microeconomics:5, Macroeconomics:5, Calc BC:5, Stats:4, CS A:4(my school doesn’t follow AP curriculum and doesn’t offer any AP classes so self prepped for them)
Organized and spoke at a TEDx youth event at my school.
Founder of a club teaching students and teachers basic life support techniques such as CPR
Gold Medal for Academic Excellence for 7 consecutive years
Essays went extremely well( I’d say 9.5/10)
Recommendations (9.5/10)
based on what I have seen before on the internet, those ECS are weak. Your sat and act/ other school things are phenomenal, but the ECS is the only thing that is bringing you down.
My ECs:
- Professional Speed Cuber
- Well versed in Indian classical singing, piano, western singing, and drumset
- Participated in Future Business Leaders of America, Health Occupations Students of America, and Debate
- Played golf on the school team
- Started my own cubing club for kids
- Started my own nonprofit
I am a freshman in high school, and I attend a very rigorous magnet high school as well. Colleges want to make sure that the academics their students are skilled in, can apply to the real world, and boost their confidence to try new and possibly risky things.
Hope This Helped!
5-10% if you are a domestic student. Less if you are international. Less again if you are an international student from a country with a high level of applicants.
At this point, nobody here can tell you anything you don’t know. Go do something to distract yourself until results come out.
Yess , helped a lot. Thank you so much
I’m in Indian applicant so I guess chances are quite low
Very very low, sorry. Grades are only the foot in the door is what I’ve learned from this process.
After that you really do need to start a successful nonprofit, do research with a prof or at ISEF level, get to USAMO, go to nationals/worlds for debate or robotics, be president of at least one club, and so on. Most Ivy students have three or more of those.
“School grade: 91/100”
How does this compare with others in your high school? Do you know whether you are close to being the top student in your school?
