GPA UW: 3.72 from overseas high school

EC’S: played soccer for 7 years in different clubs and countries ages 12 to 19. Worked as an Emerald Trader and obtain a Gemologist and Jeweler diploma.
You have a really good GPA and you’re valedictorian of your class – which is amazing!! You also have super consistent EC’s – which NYU will really like – and being a Gemologist is really unique. I think you have a pretty good shot at being accepted, if not waitlisted then accepted. Good luck to you and I hope you get in! (":

i think you have a good shot, especially with your ECs and if you have good essays. They like stories like yours. Just to be sure you know, you are competing against kids in the US with above 4.0 gpa’s (my friend has a 4.3 at a college graded school [i.e. he would have a 4.6/4.7 at a public school]) who also have great ECs, so nothing is certain.
