chance me at NYU?

Hi! I am a junior and just finished my first semester :slight_smile: NYU is one of the schools I am very interested in applying to.

STATS: 3.9 GPA unweighted 4.9 GPA weighted
I haven’t taken my SAT yet but am currently in a prep course hoping to score 1390 give or take
Full IB diploma candidate (all of my courses have been IB courses)

Extra-Curricular Activities: Classical ballet for 10 years (about 10-15 hours a week)
Ballet performances such as The Nutcracker and Sleeping Beauty
Weekly outreach in a low-income community “big sister” program at boys and girls club (teaching girls to dance, giving advice, providing support)
Page program at state capitol working as a page for the house of representatives
Position on the Board of Directors for local chapter of March for Our Lives
Position as intern for a state-wide chapter of March for Our Lives
Member of NHS
LINK crew leader (helps assimilate freshman to high school and provide year-long mentorship)
Photographer (won three honors in art competitions)

try to aim higher on SAT. For the class of 2023, the median admitted SAT was 1480. You may also find you do better on ACT than SAT.
Other than a possible weakness in standardized test scores (which you don’t know yet) it looks good, but bear in mind NYU’s admission stats are now in the mid-teens so it is pretty much a reach for everyone. If you are really sure it’s your top choice, and that funding is not an issue, then you might want to consider applying early decision to boost your chances.
