Bump

I’ll chance back guys

UIUC CS in engineering is getting very competitive. The admission average ACT last year was over 34 and the admission rate was very low. Purdue should be a good match for you and UW may be a low match.

Don’t you think Purdue and UW are low aspirations for 33C and 34 Super Score in ACT. Also, my predicted grades are very close to 38 which is a sort of a benchmark. I, personally feel very demotivated by your post. Also, the rigour of the IB program shouldn’t be undermined. I have taken, possibly the most challenging subjects needed for a CS Undergrad with the exception of CS HL which wasn’t available.

ACT 33/34 is above 75th percentile for Purdue and UW-Madison, that is why they are match to low match for you as international student. Remember, even if you have above admission average scores, it does not mean it is a match as it would depend on the admission rate. The admission stats of public schools are mostly dominated by data from in state students. For OOS, and even more so for international students, you do need to have better credential to be accepted. UIUC admits students into specific major directly (although you can choose general studies/undecided). CS in Engineering there is the most computer program with single digit admission rate (including in state students). The mid 50 ACT for UIUC Engineering overall is 31-34 while different major may bring the mid 50 up or down by 1-2 points.

Duke, Cornell, UCB are always reaches due to the low admission rates.

I don’t know much about your curriculum so couldn’t understand the grades.

But looking at your ACT and your OUTSTANDING ECs, I think you have a very good shot at almost all of your schools.

Only about 5-10% of the applicant pool will have such extensive major focused ECs. And only a small fraction of them will have done it to such a depth.

You are an extremely qualified applicant. Good luck!

Very good chance at Cornell and UC Berkeley. Your EC’s are very good and your GPA/grades won’t even matter anymore. Good job and nice coding you’ve done.

What is IDBP? Is it same as HSC or A levels?

Being an international student your command of English will certainly be of interest. What were your TOEFL scores? What about your SAT I CR scores?

The ACT scores look pretty good, but keep in mind you will be competing against internationals with perfect 36 ACT.

Extracurriculars look good. Why are your interested in computer engineering? Seems like every desi from India is interested in only computer engineering or comp sci. Make a compelling story of why this is important to you.

@shubhamchamaria did you get into UIUC ?

I think you have a good chance at many of the colleges.

Wow, all the above posts severely undercut your actual value. Why didnt you apply to HYP? Your ECs are outstanding, and you have an excellent chance at every school you have listed above. You would also have an incredible chance at HYP. You test scores are where they need to be, as is your GPA.
