I’d say you have a real strong shot if you applied ED, and good chances anyway if you applied RD, especially if you can get that SAT up.

Looks like an almost sure shot in, definitely apply ED.

Yes, apply ED if you are sure it’s your first choice and is affordable (school has a new initiative to work hard to be more broadly affordable for students who need financial assistance)

Seems in their range but will you like the student body culture? They are a little bit of a quirky left of center gay friendly liberal arts college. If that’s you then yes/ if not look elsewhere. Completely different than UVA or W&L.

@aero18 What in OP’s post indicated that they would not be interested in the environment? Frankly I would be more concerned about the OP fitting in like a place like UVA or Washington & Lee. Considering that the OP is from a first-generation student background and most of those students from UVA and W&L schools come from significantly higher socioeconomic backgrounds, I would put in extra consideration to make sure that those colleges would be a good fit. Also most colleges nowadays are friendly to LGBT individuals, and again I would be concerned if it was to be frank, because it could signal that there may be other backgrounds that may not as feel welcome there. You are correct that those colleges have very different environments though.
