Okay I guess I’m not getting into colleges…

Boston University- likely
Boston College- likely
Amherst- very unlikely
UMass- likely
Williams- very unlikely
Tufts- possible
Pomona- very unlikely

I think you will get into umass Amherst. The others are very test oriented so i cannot say about those. Good luck!

@AspiringApplicant you said: “Amherst - likely”

I’m assuming that was a typo. Amherst is very unlikely for this applicant.

The responses you’ve gotten above make me sad because they are literally one word. Let me try to help you out:

Boston College:

GPA: your GPA is higher than the average applicant’s 3.72. this will help you because BC’s main focus is academic achievement. your weighted GPA is high as well!
ACT: your ACT is slightly lower than the average applicant’s 30 but within range.
SAT: your SAT is slightly higher than the average applicant and matches to about a 30 ACT score.
Activities: you have a nice variety of commitments which is good because BC weights them with as much importance as your essays (also I’m plant based too!)
Admission: BC has become more competitive with more popularity and takes 29%. This is selective, but I think this could be a high match school for you.

Boston University:

GPA: your GPA is higher than the average applicant’s 3.66. this will help you because BU’s main focus is academic achievement. your weighted GPA is high as well!
ACT: your ACT is slightly lower than the average applicant’s 30 but within range.
SAT: your SAT is slightly higher than the average applicant and matches to about a 30 ACT score.
Activities: you have a nice variety of commitments as I said before. BU doesn’t weight them as much as scores and grades but they’ll certainly set you apart.
Admission: BU takes 29%. Given your stats and achievements I think this could be a match for you.

Amherst College:

GPA: your GPA is a match (the average applicant has a 3.85). Your weighted GPA is also a match to the average applicant’s 4.28.
ACT: your ACT is lower than the average 32. Amherst weights scores as much as grades so this will make it more of a reach.
SAT: your SAT is almost a match for Amherst and matches to about a 30 ACT score.
Activities: Amherst weights EC’s with as much importance as ACT and GPA. If you take advantage of this and highlight your achievements, this could really strengthen your application.
Admission: Amherst takes 14% of applicants, making it hard for even the most qualified students to receive admission. I think this is a reach school for you, especially because of its small size.

Umass Amherst:

GPA: Your GPA is much higher than the average applicant’s 3.44. Umass Amherst weights GPA and standardized testing equally, so this can help you.
ACT: your ACT is almost a match to the average applicant’s 29.
SAT: your SAT is higher than the average Umass amherst’s applicant.
Activities: Umass doesn’t weight them as much as scores and grades, but but they’ll certainly set you apart with the addition of your high GPA.
Admission: Umass amherst takes 58% of students. I think this would be a match/“safety” for you.

Tufts:

GPA: Your GPA is slightly higher than the average applicant’s 3.78. This will help you considering Tufts’ emphasis on academics.
ACT: your ACT is lower than the average 32. Tufts puts emphasis on scores as well, so this will make it more of a reach.
SAT: your SAT is lower than the average’s applicants, making this more of a reach for you. However, it is better than your ACT score.
Activities: Highlight your strengths. Tufts looks at activities only a bit less than grades/scores so try to sell yourself in this area.
Admission: Tufts takes 14% of applicants, making it hard for any applicant. I’d consider this a reach school for you.

Williams:
GPA: your GPA is a match (the average applicant has a 3.85). Your weighted GPA is also a match to the average applicant’s 4.26.
ACT: your ACT is lower than the average 32. Williams puts emphasis on scores like grades, so this will make it more of a reach.
SAT: your SAT is lower than the average’s applicants, making this more of a reach for you. However, it is better than your ACT score.
Activities: Highlight your strengths. Like Tufts, Williams looks at activities only a bit less than grades/scores so try to sell yourself here.
Admission: Williams takes 16.8%. It is competitive for all applicants, especially because of its small size. I’d consider this a reach school for you.

Pomona:
GPA: your GPA is a match to the average applicant’s 3.81, as is your weighted GPA to the average 4.19.
ACT: your ACT is lower than the average 32. Pomona puts emphasis on scores like grades, so this will make it more of a reach.
SAT: your SAT is a match, so this will certainly strengthen your application.
Activities: Pomona puts as much emphasis on activities as #s, so definitely elaborate and sell yourself here. If you highlight your strengths, this will really help set you apart.
Admission: Pomona takes 9% of applicants, making it your most competitive numbers. Your stats are actually a match for the most part, but remember its selectivity and small size. I’d consider this a reach school for you.

Although most of these might be reaches, I still think you are a strong applicant at all of them. Have you considered adding some schools with larger sizes on your list (similar to BC and BU?) As you can see, small school size really increases selectivity. Best of luck!

@cccrsn Whew… I’ll agree with you.

Thank you guys for the great responses
