Please chance me for any of the following colleges that you wish: Boston University, University of Pittsburgh, Northeastern University, University of California- Los Angelos, University of Michigan, University of California- Berkley, UPenn, University of Houston, Wisconsin- Madison, Duke, Tulane University, Emory University, or George Washington University.

Sorry that the college list is so long, feel free to pick and choose colleges from that list. Any input is greatly appreciated! Thank you all and good luck with college apps!

I’m only speaking for BU and Northeastern because I am interested in those colleges as well. Your ECs seem like they will be the bulk of your app (which is not a bad thing). However, you must have a good essay that goes along with those as well. As for stats, I would look into retaking ACT and superscoring (northeastern superscores ACT not sure about BU). I would stick to ACT because your score is already much higher than your SAT. I would try to get ACT in the 75% range to feel competitive (33-34). Class rank is a little troubling especially for northeastern. But that can all depend on the context of your school and your specific situation. As for major, unlike others, it is rather uncommon to apply undecided to northeastern. While most colleges expect each student to arrive undecided and declare before junior year, northeastern sets aside undecided freshman in a separate program. Just thought you should know what to expect. That’s not to say they don’t allow you to change your major. Good luck!!

You should cut half from your list honestly. However I think your stats are fine.

I think your whole list is reaches. For instate for Michigan I posted their latest link. Your ec’s are amazing but stats are the lower end but you are instate for Michigan. They only look at unweighted. A=4,B=3 etc. I would really look carefully at Naviance and see where you fall. You are compared to your classmates and district. How did they do getting into these schools? Again look at Naviance for those answers.

You have tons of potential and are a hard worker. That comes across. Being instate, urm and female might help Your internship at Michigan will not go unnoticed. They like connections. Make sure your regional counselor knows you want to go there. Do a formal visit even though you worked there. Will the person your doing research write a recommendation for you? Does that person have connections for you? Use everything you can to get in and an inside person sometimes helps.

Also you need matches and safeties. Michigan State University honors is a great program, great scholarships(like half or more grant) with research stipend usually included and sometimes a $5,000 study abroad grant.

Kill your senior year. Most schools will want your first semester grades. Prove to them you got this! . Apply early to Michigan. You will most likely be deferred to regular decision just like everyone else… Lol.

For the UC’s, your stats are not competitive. Your stats have to be better than instate residents to even have a remote chance of being admitted.
As a non resident, you will not receive any state funding so your fees would be $65k per year. Can your parents afford a quarter of a million dollars to attend a state public university?
Also,California public universities, like the UCs, cannot use race/ethnicity to admit students. It’s against the law in California.
Why aren’t you applying to more privates and to your instate schools?
