PLEASE CHANCE ME FOR Brown, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Duke, Northwestern, Stanford, Chicago, UPenn, USC

You clearly don’t understand the admissions process since you posted a composite SAT score and a GPA with no context. It isn’t two numbers and all the special things done in life. It has to do with who you are, where you are from, what you’ve taken, how well you did, what your individual scores are and your SAT IIs that you didn’t mention since all of these schools require multiple for a competitive applicant. You haven’t mentioned what math classes you’ve taken, or mentioned what your writing proficiency is.

Once all that is reviewed they look at the extra stuff.

So to simply put it, there is no way to chance you besides stating the statistical chances listed based on the last class’ admission percentages.

It feels irresistible to ask to be “chanced” because we are all so freaked out by the low stats for admits, and Brown is such a cool place…I think we all get that. But I do think Obstreperous is right: Its not the stats-- its the person. I was told Brown really looks at the individual, and cares a lot about fit, especially with the open curriculum and the potential to kinda get “lost” if you are not right for it…And then there’s context, like the school and area you are from, and then there’s what they may need to balance out the class, and of course there’s the luck factor. Certainly you have a shot–most of us on this site do. Hope you get what you want. The people in the class above me got into some schools, but I’m not gonna lie–they had some big dissapointments with the Ivies, especially. So the cliche holds: LOVE THY SAFETIES. Apply to lots of schools at various levels. There are great ones out there with smart, interesting people. I’m trying to convince myself of all this as much as you as I write it, by the way…

This is no different from the millions of other “chance” threads out there.

Anyway, decent chances.
