Fantastic essays, great recs (physics & math teachers)

Biomed engineering major

White female from MI

I normally don’t participate in chance threads since I find them useless but to the “gonna get all 800s” don’t count your chickens before they hatch. A 35 is excellent on its own, you seem to be set in terms of test scores. A 3.67 by itself could be better but where you went to high school is also important and it’s not horrible. You stand a good chance as you already know, applying ED will help you of course but you’re a strong candidate either way.

Also from MI. Good luck.

Thank you for your opinion. How are my ECs? I’ve received mixed opinions. And I know the “all 800s” sounds presumptuous, but I’ve actually already taken Math II & Physics and done reasonably well, I just wanna get them to 800s along with Chem (apparently 3 is the magic number…you want at least that many). I have until mid-October to study, including the rest of the summer, and when I put my mind to something, I’m often good at achieving it!

Oh and MI rules. And my GPA trends upward after freshman year (3.84 UW without it, all solid As the last two trimesters of junior year).

Just so you know, the test is on October 1st. Having until “Mid-October” to study is literally impossible, unless you are taking the exam in November.

Wow, have you really? Typical CCers. They’re fine.

Oh okay, I have over 2 months to study.

And Tenors, are they impressive/atypical at all? Or just average?

they’re impressive…
what’s the president service award? how does a person go about getting one?

Thanks  Umm you have to reach some sort of quota for service hours to get one…I got it through the community service office at my school

oh…i’m not sure if my school offers it or not. but is 300 volunteer hours enough to get one?

yeah for sure. but you can only get them in like the spring

oh damn…that;s gonna be too late. i’m planning to apply wharton ed…

Well you can still get the award…you just won’t have it to put on your college apps.

Hello

Ok ur gpa is a bit low BUT

I think ur in very good shape, since the rest of ur resume is rocking!

Good luck and I like that u said that you’ll get all 800
Shows that ur a hard worker and that u want results

yeah man, exactly what I was thinkin

Maybe you will be able to get 800s, however it really is not a worthwhile goal. You should study, but don’t spend to much time worrying about it. I think your essays should be a much higher priority because those can actually make you stand out.

“apparently 3 is the magic number…you want at least that many”
Really? I’ve been told that two is enough since they only look at your highest two.

Bumppppppp

Is Penn one of those schools known for being willing to forgive a low GPA if the applicant has high test scores?

I have the same question except switch the words “GPA” and “test scores”.
