pretty low chances ED considering they don’t have an ED policy
For regular early action then? And my other schools?
There is no ED… you have to apply EA. OOS is hard and is a reach for you, but you may have a shot being low income ( if in fact you really are low income). The school is actively trying to increase its low income students and recently won a very large grant for these efforts. Keep in mind that it’s still a reach…
You should get into UNC-C and Rutgers ( are you from NJ?) but in my opinion Rutgers is more of a match and not a true safety. What is your major? Not sure about Purdue … and the other schools on your list are reaches.
I would add 2 schools that you know you will get accepted to and know you can afford. If you are from NJ can you add another state school? Do you know what your mom can pay towards college? Some of these schools will not give you money… Can your mom afford UCLA at $60,000+ per year? Have you done the NPC for UNC to see if you can pay your EFC?
I don’t know whether OOS legacy status will help you with UNC-CH; it may in combination with URM and low income status, but I don’t have a good feel for that.
IMO, low chance for UT-Austin if you are OOS there; being Hispanic won’t help you in Texas, and the students from our OOS high school who were admitted to UT-Austin had higher weighted GPAs (over 4.0), and most had SAT scores of 1400+. Same analysis for UCLA. Our accepted students at Boston College – all middle- to upper middle-class, and non-URM – had SAT scores of 1430+ and weighted GPAs of 4.3+.
Why the particular list of schools that you mentioned? (I’m having a hard time connecting those dots.) What are you interested in studying? Also, what is your home state?
I’m interested in studying communications in specifically leadership and social services…I figured my extra curriculars may take me a little bit of the way(forgot to mention I was a head waiter at reasturant since 16 along with vp of language club) stellar recommendations from presidential and club advisor, also am awaiting new SAT… anything else I can do to boost app?
