Thanks for looking, here are the colleges I am applying to.

All for a Marketing Degree with a minor in Graphic Design

Virginia Tech
Grove City
Palm Beach Atlantic

SAT Score- 1670
Critical Reading - 620
Math - 510
Writing - 540 (Essay 9)
High school GPA(Current) - 3.75

Previous GPA's were horrible. Went from a 3.1(Freshmen) then to a 1.8(6 classmates expelled that year, really rough year at a really strict private school - was in the principals longer than the class) and then to a 3.3 my Junior Year. So pretty dramatic increases since my sophomore year escapades.

EC - Youth Group activities/ local nursing home choir + volunteer.
- Varsity Soccer.
9th grade- 2nd highest scorer/most assists.
10th grade - Highest scorer/assists.
11th grade - All tournament 3x, All county, County MVP, States MVP + Championship
12th grade - All tournament 4x, All county, States MVP + Regionals Championship MVP

Also worked 25 hours a week my Junior + Senior year as a shift manager at KFC/Tacobell (currently unemployed after a 2 year run)

For all those schools I will be trying out for the Men's Soccer, PBA is second division. Grove city is 3rd and Virginia Tech is 1st. Have talked to all coaches, all seem interested. Tryout dates set.

Chance me please

Cliffs- VT, PBA, Grove City, 4 years EC Varsity Soccer/many MVP's+newspaper mentions.
3.75 GPA, 1670 SAT Score.

If your GPA is a 3.75,Your a Match at Va Tech, but the numbers dont add up so idk what your cumulative GPA is, because that is what they are going to look at
sorry but I have no idea about the other 2, never heard of them =)

Well I hate to think I’m deceiving anyone…but I used the calculator with 1 credit for each class? Put the letter grade and thats what it said. New to this site obviously, but thanks for the chance. Will chance back.

Also meant to mention, at our school we don’t have non-AP choices. Actually, there are only 2 classes that offer that. Chemistry offers two different tests that you can decide to take on test day, along with marine biology. So basically all those classes are “Public school AP” classes. If that helps anything.

Virginia Tech: match
Other two… I’m just assuming you’re in. I’ve never heard of them before.

Be sure to talk about everything that went on your sophomore year in your essay to explain the drop in GPA. Colleges really want to know about that stuff.
Also I understand, I go to a small private school that purges people frequently. Not fun.

Ya…my college essay is extremely solid, and I mentioned NOTHING about the sophomore year. From my understanding the essay, unless asked was not necessarily to be used to “toot your own horn” but to show your individuality and uniqueness to the common student. I did exactly that, so hopefully it works out. I would gladly explain the situation if asked, basically two of my friends got there girlfriends pregnant, got into drugs, etc. And because I was previously friends with them I was constantly harrassed and bothered.

VTech- Im gonna say match…
your SAT needs to be a bit higher, two give you a higher chance at all three schools.
However, your extracurriculars really do help you, and if you explain what happened in your sophomore year to admissions and get them to understand the situation you were in, you should be fine. Good luck! ^-^
